80-conductor Cable Is Not Inserted (Computer Technology)

This is a BIOS error. It indicates that the cable between mainboard and harddisk should have been one with 80 cables in it (a so called UDMA cable). Incase of this error, you will have most like used a standard IDE cable with only 40 connections. You do not need to replace the cable, however, replacing the cable might give a little performance boost.
