An initiative sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to promote walking, bicycling and the development of accessible recreation facilities. ACEs was created in response to data from a variety of disciplines, including public health, urban design and transportation planning, suggesting that characteristics of our communities play a significant role in promoting or discouraging physical activity.
