Active Server Pages (ASP)

For Active Server Pages (ASP) we have terms and definitions in 4 topics. The topics are Business Intelligence, Technology, Usability and Web Hosting.

Active Server Pages (Asp) (Business Intelligence)

Active server pages are a set of software components that run on a Web server and allow Web developers to build dynamic Web pages.

Active Server Pages (Asp) (Technology)

Microsoft created this technology and bundled it with their IIS Web server. It is designed to allow easy combination of HTML, scripts (such as Javascript and Microsoft's VBScript), and ActiveX. Active Server Pages promise to be more robust than CGI when handling large amounts of client requests.

Active Server Pages (Asp) (Usability)

A visual-basic based language to provide enhanced and dynamic functionality to static HTML pages. Since ASP runs entirely on the server, there are usually less cross-browser problems. Like Java and JavaScript, older browsers don't support ASP. Unlike Java and JavaScript however, there is no way to "turn off" ASP functionality in newer browsers.

Active Server Pages (Asp) (Web Hosting)

Active Server Pages allow web developers to make their sites dynamic with database driven content. The code is mainly written in VB Script, and it is produced on the server of the web site instead of the browser of your web site visitors. The server reads the ASP code and then translates it to HTML.
