Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP)

For Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) we have terms and definitions in 10 topics. The topics are Anthromorphemics, Anthropology, Anti-Aging, Biology, Fitness, Hormone Replacement Therapy, Horse Health, Huntingtons Disease, Microbiology and Supplements.

Adenosine Triphosphate (Atp) (Anthromorphemics)

The main fuel of cells. ATP is manufactured by the mitochondria.

Adenosine Triphosphate (Atp) (Anthropology)

The main fuel of cells. ATP is manufactured by the mitochondria.

Adenosine Triphosphate (Atp) (Anti-Aging)

This is the primary fuel used by cells to generate the biochemical reactions essential for life.

Adenosine Triphosphate (Atp) (Biology)

The chemical substance that serves as the currency of energy in cells.

Adenosine Triphosphate (Atp) (Fitness)

All living things, plants and animals, require a continual supply of energy in order to function. The energy is used for all the processes which keep the organism alive. Some of these processes occur continually, such as the metabolism of foods, the synthesis of large, biologically important molecules, e.g. proteins and DNA, and the transport of molecules and ions throughout the organism. Other processes occur only at certain times, such as muscle contraction and other cellular movements. Animals obtain their energy by oxidation of foods; plants do so by trapping the sunlight using chlorophyll. However, before the energy can be used, it is first transformed into a form that the organism can handle easily. This special carrier of energy is the molecule adenosine triphosphate, or ATP.

Adenosine Triphosphate (Atp) (Hormone Replacement Therapy)

This is the primary fuel used by cells to generate the biochemical reactions essential for life.

Adenosine Triphosphate (Atp) (Horse Health)

The major form of energy used by cells in the body.

Adenosine Triphosphate (Atp) (Huntingtons Disease)

ATP is the major carrier of high-energy phosphate bonds and is the body’s primary form of energy “currency.” The breakdown of ATP by the following reaction releases a great deal of energy which the cell uses for its various activities: ATP + H2O --> ADP + Pi.

Adenosine Triphosphate (Atp) (Microbiology)

The principal energy carrier of the cell.

Adenosine Triphosphate (Atp) (Supplements)

An important high energy compound, which is present in your muscle fibers. Especially used during the anabolic and anti-catabolic phase of working muscles.
