Aromatics (Auto Body)

A type of solvent based on benzene ring molecules. Aromatics are often used as diluents. Example are benzene, xylene, and toluene.

Aromatics (Energy)

Class of hydrocarbons that have at least one benzene ring as part of their structure. Generally describes benzene and benzene derivatives. These products are used as components of unleaded gasolines and as feedstocks for petrochemicals such as cyclohexane and paraxylene, both of which are used in end products like nylons and polyesters.

Aromatics (Environment)

A type of hydrocarbon, such as benzene or toluene, with a specific type of ring structure. Aromatics are sometimes added to gasoline in order to increase octane. Some aromatics are toxic.

Aromatics (Naturopathic)

Chemically, molecules containing one or more benzene rings, but in our usage, plant compounds which, upon contact to the air, form gases which can be smelled: volatile oils. (Examples: menthol, Peppermint oil.)

Aromatics (Oil Acronyms)

Group of petrochemicals characterized by a ring structure, they are produced in refinery reformers and petrochemical plants.
The most commonly traded are benzene, toluene and xylenes. They are used for chemical production or as high-octane components for gasoline blending.

Aromatics (Sanitation)

A type of hydrocarbon, such as benzene or toluene, added to gasoline in order to increase octane. Some aromatics are toxic.

Aromatics (Tobacco)

Originally mainly from Europe and America, these have been enthusiastically taken up by the younger smoker, with rich flavours like cherry, orange, chocolate, coffee, whisky and many more additives, (I'm personally looking for a tobacco with the flavour of my favourite food, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, that way I can smoke my pipe and feel as though I've had my lunch in one go and loose some weight in the process).
