The topics are Cardiovascular Health, Cholesterol, Diabetes, Emergency Health Care, Erectile Dysfunction, Female Health, Food, Food and Health, Health, Heart Disease, Horse Health, Huntingtons Disease, Medical, Men's Health, Prostate Cancer, Science, Vascular Disease, Women's Health and Womens Health.

Atherosclerosis (Cardiovascular Health)

Hardening of the arteries; a condition characterized by the buildup of plaque and other substances in the inner lining of the blood vessels. When plaque builds up in an artery of the heart, the artery becomes narrowed, reducing the blood flow. This can lead to angina or a heart attack. In the arteries of the neck or brain, it can lead to a stroke.

Atherosclerosis (Cholesterol)

A process of progressive thickening and hardening of the walls of medium-sized and large arteries as a result of fat deposits on their inner lining.

Atherosclerosis (Diabetes)

One of many diseases in which fat builds up in the large- and medium-sized arteries. This buildup of fat may slow down or stop blood flow. This disease can happen to people who have had diabetes for a long time.

Atherosclerosis (Emergency Health Care)

A type of arteriosclerosis caused by a build-up of plaque in the inner lining of an artery.

Atherosclerosis (Erectile Dysfunction)

Also called hardening of the arteries, it is a process in which the walls of the arteries become thickened and hardened, usually due to a buildup of fat deposits.

Atherosclerosis (Female Health)

A process in which fatty substances build up inside the walls of blood vessels. Blood components also stick on the surface inside vessel walls. The vessels narrow and "harden," becoming less flexible (atherosclerosis literally means hardening of the artery). The build-up, or "plaque," may break open and suddenly produce a blood clot; when blood flow to the heart is reduced, chest pain (angina; see separate entry) can result. If blood flow is nearly or completely blocked a heart attack can occur and cause muscle cells in the heart to die, resulting in permanent damage.

Atherosclerosis (Food)

A condition that exists when too much cholesterol builds up in the blood and accumulates in the walls of the blood vessels.

Atherosclerosis (Food and Health)

A condition that exists when too much cholesterol builds up in the blood and accumulates in the walls of the blood vessels.

Atherosclerosis (Health)

Condition in which lipids (fats) collect under the inner lining of damaged artery walls, eventually narrowing or blocking the artery and obstructing blood flow

Atherosclerosis (Heart Disease)

Fatty deposits on the lining of an artery that can cause blockage in the arteries supplying oxygen to the heart. Atherosclerosis is sometimes called hardening of the arteries. ArrhythmiaAn abnormal heart rhythm.

Atherosclerosis (Horse Health)

Vascular disease associated with high blood pressure and high cholesterol and fats in people; exceptionally rare in animals.

Atherosclerosis (Huntingtons Disease)

The clogging, narrowing, and hardening of the blood vessels that can lead to stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems.

Atherosclerosis (Medical)

Narrowing of the lining of the arteries due to the accumulation of fat and other materials; leads to coronary heart disease, stroke, and other disorders

Atherosclerosis (Men's Health)

A type of arteriosclerosis caused by a build-up of plaque in the inner lining of an artery.

Atherosclerosis (Prostate Cancer)

A disorder of the arteries leading to reduced blood flow caused by the narrowing of blood vessels due to the accumulation of plaques composed up of cholesterols and fats

Atherosclerosis (Science)

The buildup of plaque in blood vessels. This buildup narrows and stiffens the blood vessels, thereby impeding the blood flow in the vessels

Atherosclerosis (Vascular Disease)

A progressive narrowing and “hardening” of the arteries; caused when plaques develop in the wall of arteries, due to the accumulation of cholesterol and other fats, and reduce blood flow.

Atherosclerosis (Women's Health)

A disease in which fatty material is deposited on the wall of the arteries. This fatty material causes the arteries to become narrow and it eventually restricts blood flow.

Atherosclerosis (Womens Health)

A disease in which fatty material is deposited on the wall of the arteries. This fatty material causes the arteries to become narrow and it eventually restricts blood flow.
