Attribute (Anthromorphemics)

A minimal characteristic of an artifact such that it cannot be further subdivided; attributes commonly studied include aspects of form, style, decoration, color, and raw material.


Attribute (Anthropology)

A minimal characteristic of an artifact such that it cannot be further subdivided; attributes commonly studied include aspects of form, style, decoration, color, and raw material.


Attribute (Business Intelligence)

A field represented by a column within an object (entity). An object may be a table, view or report. An attribute is also associated with an SGML(HTML) tag used to further define the usage.


Attribute (CSS)

A value associated with an element, consisting of a name, and an associated textual value.

Attribute (Computer Virus)


A property of an object, such as a file or display device.


Attribute (GPS)

A characteristic which describes a Feature. Attributes can be thought of as questions which are asked about the Feature. Typically associated with geospatial data gathering for inclusion within Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Attribute (Mathmatical Markup)

A parameter to (property of) an SGML or XML element (specified in the start tag) that is composed of an attribute name and a value.


Attribute (Scanner)

Characteristics of a page or character, such as underlining, boldface, or font, that can be captured by an optical character recognition (OCR) program.

Attribute (Teacher Evaluation)

A characteristic, capacity, or perceived quality of an individual or of a thing or place such as the work context or the school. For individuals, attributes include, but are not limited to, attitude, ability, behavior, skill, knowledge, or interest. See Construct.


Attribute (XML)

A characteristic or property of an element. Attributes are represented as name value pairs on an element tag.
