BIND

For BIND we have terms and definitions in 4 topics. The topics are Domain Names, Fencing, Linux, Red Hat and Technology.

BIND (Domain Names)

Berkeley Internet Name Domain. BIND software, developed by the University of California at Berkeley, implements a DNS server and a resolver library that enables clients to store and retrieve resources or objects and share this information with other resources on the network. The BIND server runs in the background, servicing queries on a well known network port. Most Internet hosts run BIND. See http://www.isc.org/bind.html

BIND (Fencing)

An action in which the opponent's blade is forced into the diagonally opposite line.

BIND (Linux, Red Hat)

See Berkeley Internet Name Domain (BIND).

BIND (Technology)

To associate two pieces of information with one another. The term is most often used with reference to associating a symbol (such as the name of a variable) with some descriptive information (such as a memory address, a data type, or an actual value). See also binding time, dynamic binding, static binding.
