A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web (it can be private or public). The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger." Blogs are typically updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog. BLOG (Computer Technology)

A blog is a web page made up of usually short, frequently updated posts that are arranged chronologically—like a what's new page or a journal. The content and purposes of blogs varies greatly—from links and commentary about other web sites, to news about a company/person/idea, to diaries, photos, poetry, mini-essays, project updates, even fiction. BLOG (Consumer Generated Media)

Short for weblog, a type of website for which an individual or a group generates text, photographs, audio files, and/or links, typically, but not always on a daily or otherwise regular basis.


BLOG (Feeds)

Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is a journal that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or the Web site.

BLOG (Library)

Short for Weblog, blogs began as a type of online diary and usually refer to types of Webpages that are updated or posted to on a regular basis, with the posts appearing in reverse chronological order (most recent at the top of the page). [slang] Short for "WeBLOG." A Weblog is a type of website that uses a dated log format for the building its content. Weblogs (or blogs) are usually moderated by a single person who creates the material themselves, edits submissions from contributors, gleans material from elsewhere on the Net, or a combination of all three. One of the most common blog sites is the news for nerds mecca Slash Dot.
