Backface Culling

Backface Culling (Real Time 3D)

The process of removing the unseen polygons that face away from the viewer. This can dramatically speed up the rendering of a polygonal scene, since they take up valuable processing power. Also called Backface Removal or Back Culling. It is one of the methods of Hidden Surface Removal.
