The part of a loudspeker enclosure on to which the drive units are fastened. Alternatively, a sound absorbent barrier used in recording studios to separate musicians who are recording in the same room (sometimes referred to as a "gobo" in this sense). Hence a "well baffled speaker" is not a speaker that is in a state of some confusion! but rather, it is a loudspeaker which has been firmly fixed to a rigid base-board.
