Bioassay (Environment)

A test to determine te relative strength of a substance by comparing its effect on a test organism with that of a standard preparation.


Bioassay (Sanitation)

(1) An assay method using a change in biological activity as a qualitative or quantitative means of analyzing a material's response to biological treatment. (2) A method of determining toxic effects of industrial wastes and other wastewaters by using viable organisms.


Bioassay (Vitamins)

A special assay test for measuring the biological actions of a substance. (See Assay).
