Bulb (Agriculture)

An underground storage organ made up of enlarged and fleshy leaf bases and a bud.


Bulb (Gardening)

A storage organ, usually formed below ground level, used for propagation. A true bulb consists of fleshy scales surrounding the central bud. We often think of spring and fall bulbs.


Bulb (Import Cars)

The glass envelope that contains an incandescent lamp or an electronic tube.

The everyday term for an incandescent lamp. Also refers to the outer glass envelope of the lamp.

Shutter speed setting where the shutter stays open as long as the shutter release is depressed. Usually indicated by a B on the shutter speed selector.


Bulb (Video Projector)

A light source commonly mistaken for the lamp module in a projector. Bulbs provide incandescent room lighting. Lamp modules provide light for projected images.
