Cancer (Astrology)

The fourth sign of the zodiac. Cancer, the crab, is a cardinal, water sign. Ruled by the Moon, it is the exaltation of Jupiter. More about Cancer.

Cancer (Bladder Cancer)

A malignant tumor. It has the potential of invading into the adjacent tissues, spreading to other organs and may eventually lead to the patient's death.

Cancer (Breast Cancer)

A general term for an estimated 200 different kinds of diseases characterized by the abnormal and uncontrolled growth of cells derived from normal tissues; the unregulated, disorganized proliferation of cell growth. Cancers that arise in epithelial tissues are called carcinomas.

Cancer (Cancer)

Cancer involves the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells that have mutated from normal tissues. This growth can kill when these cells prevent normal function of vital organs or spread throughout the body, damaging essential systems. Cancer cells can invade nearby tissues and can spread through the bloodstream and lymphatic system to other parts of the body. There are at least 200 different kinds of cancers.

Cancer (Colon Cancer)

Cancer develops when cells in a part of the body begin to grow out of control. They can continue to grow as tumors and replace normal tissue. Not all tumors are cancerous (malignant). Benign (non-cancerous) tumors do not metastasize (spread to other parts of the body), and with very rare exceptions, are not life threatening.

Cancer (Colorectal and Pelvic Floor Diso)

A term for diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control. Cancer cells can invade nearby tissues and can spread through the bloodstream and lymphatic system to other parts of the body.

Cancer (Dream)

To have one successfully treated in a dream, denotes a sudden rise from obscure poverty to wealthy surroundings.
To dream of a cancer, denotes illness of some one near you, and quarrels with those you love. Depressions may follow to the man of affairs after this dream.
To dream of a cancer, foretells sorrow in its ugliest phase. Love will resolve itself into cold formality, and business will be worrying and profitless.

Cancer (Ear Surgery)

Malignant tissue that is invasive, destroys healthy tissue, and tends to spread to distant locations.

Cancer (Environment)

Unregulated growth of changed cells; a group of changed, growing cells (tumor).

Cancer (Environmental Health)

Abnormal cells that divide without control, which can invade nearby tissues or spread through the bloodstream and lymphatic system to other parts of the body.

Cancer (Erectile Dysfunction)

A disease in which malignant cells grow out of control and spread to other parts of the body.

Cancer (Female Health)

Abnormal cells that divide without control, which can invade nearby tissues or spread through the bloodstream and lymphatic system to other parts of the body.

Cancer (Genome)

Diseases in which abnormal cells divide and grow unchecked. Cancer can spread from its original site to other parts of the body and can be fatal.

Cancer (Gerontology)

A clonal growth (cells all descended from one ancestral cell) that undergo continuing mitotic divisions and are not inhibited in their growth when they come in contact with neighboring cells (contact inhibition). Thus, cancers obliterate the normal architecture of the host tissue. Cancer cells often spread (or metastasize) throughout the body by way of the blood stream or lymphatic vessels to form tumors in new locations beyond the primary site of origin. Cells become cancerous by accumulating, stepwise, a series of several mutations that alter the function of genes important for cell growth.

Cancer (Gynecological)

Abnormal cells that divide without control, which can invade nearby tissues or spread through the bloodstream and lymphatic system to other parts of the body.

Cancer (Gynecology)

Abnormal cells that divide without control, which can invade nearby tissues or spread through the bloodstream and lymphatic system to other parts of the body.

Cancer (HIV and AIDs)

Unregulated cell growth that invades normal body structures.

Cancer (Health)

Abnormal cells that divide without control, which can invade nearby tissues or spread through the bloodstream and lymphatic system to other parts of the body.

Cancer (Hormone Replacement Therapy)

An abnormal growth of cells which tend to proliferate in an uncontrolled way and, in some cases, to metastasize (spread).

Cancer (Huntingtons Disease)

Any malignant growth or tumor caused by abnormal and uncontrolled cell division.

Cancer (Incontinence)

Uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells that if left untreated takes control of an entire organ or even the entire body. Malignant neoplasm or tumor.

Cancer (Legal, Mesothelioma)

Cancer is not just one disease but rather a group of diseases. All forms of cancer cause cells in the body to change and grow out of control. Most types of cancer cells form a lump or mass called a tumor. The tumor can invade and destroy healthy tissue. Cells from the tumor can break away and travel to other parts of the body. There they can continue to grow. This spreading process is called metastasis. When cancer spreads, it is still named after the part of the body where it started. For example, if breast cancer spreads to the lungs, it is still breast cancer, not lung cancer.
Some cancers, such as blood cancers, do not form a tumor. Not all tumors are cancer. A tumor that is not cancer is called benign. Benign tumors do not grow and spread the way cancer does. They are usually not a threat to life. Another word for cancerous is malignant

Cancer (Lymphoma)

An abnormal cell that cannot be controlled by the body's natural defenses. Cancerous cells can grow and eventually form tumors.

Cancer (Medical)

A group of diseases in which cells grow unrestrained in an organ or tissue in the body; can spread to tissues around it and destroy them or be transported through blood or lymph pathways to other parts of the body

Cancer (Men's Health)

General term for a large group of diseases (more than 100), all characterized by uncontrolled growth, invasion, and spread of abnormal cells to other parts of the body.

Cancer (Microbiology)

A disease process initiated by transformation of a cell to behavior lacking in normal proliferative control, and often involving invasive behavior and localized vascularization.

Cancer (Pathology)

Not just one disease, but rather a group of diseases. All forms of cancer cause cells in the body to change and grow out of control. Most types of cancer cells form a lump or mass called a tumor. The tumor can invade and destroy healthy tissue.

Cancer (Pituitary)

Malignant tissue that is invasive, destroys healthy tissue, and tends to spread to distant locations.

Cancer (Prostate Cancer)

The growth of abnormal cells in the body in an uncontrolled manner; unlike benign tumors, these tend to invade surrounding tissues, and spread to distant sites of the body via the blood stream and lymphatic system

Cancer (Quitting Smoking)

An abnormal growth of cells which tend to proliferate in an uncontrolled way and, in some cases, to metastasize (spread).

Cancer (Science)

The uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells

Cancer (Skin Cancer)

See Malignant. Malignancy is an equivalent term.

Cancer (Toxic Substances)

Any one of a group of diseases that occur when cells in the body become abnormal and grow or multiply out of control.

Cancer (Veterinary)

A group of diseases caused by transformation of normal cells into malignant ones. When these cells shed and travel to other areas of the body, the cancer is said to metastasize. As the cancerous growth draws nutrients, and the general lack of well-being diminishes the appetite, the resultant emaciation is called cancer cachexia. http://www.bmd.org/cancer.html

Cancer (William Shakespeare)

The fourth sign of the zodiac.

Cancer (Women's Health)

A group of diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control. Cancer cells can invade nearby tissues and can spread through the bloodstream and lymphatic system to other parts of the body.

Cancer (Womens Health)

A group of diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control. Cancer cells can invade nearby tissues and can spread through the bloodstream and lymphatic system to other parts of the body.
