Canonical Analysis

Canonical Analysis (Ordination)

A term which appears in the literature a number of times, often with different meanings. It has been used as a synonym for canonical correlation and Canonical Correspondence Analysis. It is probably best reserved as a generic term referring to any method which links one set of variables to at least one other set of variables, and would thus include canonical correspondence analysis, canonical correlation, redundancy analysis, etc.
