Chancroid

Chancroid (HIV and AIDs)

A highly contagious sexually transmitted disease caused by the Hemophilus ducreyi BACTERIUM. It appears as a pimple, chancre, sore or ulcer on the skin of the genitals. The lesion arises after an incubation period of three to five days and may facilitate the transmission of HIV. Usually treated with ERYTHROMYCIN or ceftriaxone.


Chancroid (Reproductive Infections)

A sexually transmitted disease caused by the rod-shaped bacteria, Hemophilus ducreyi, often causing painful sores on the penis, vagina, or anus, and swollen lymph nodes.


Chancroid (Sex)

A painful sore on the penis that is caused by the STD bacterium Hemophilus ducreyi.
