The purity or degree of saturation of a color; relative absence of white or gray in a color.

Chroma (Color Pencil)

A color's strength or intensity.


Chroma (Multimedia)

The NTSC, PAL, or SECAM video signal contains two parts that make up what you see on the display: the intensity part, and the color part. Chroma is the color part.


Chroma (Paint)

A measurement of color. The degree of saturation of a hue. A color at its full intensity has maximum chroma.

Chroma (Photography)

The quality of a colour that is the combination of hue and brightness. In the Munsell system of colour notation, chroma indicates the purity of a colour as measured along an axis; the farther from the axis, the purer the colour.


Chroma (Video)

Short for chrominance. Chroma is the color component of the video signal.
