An aggregation of people having a common characteristic, usually the time period in which they were born

Cohort (Bladder Cancer)

A group of individuals who share a common characteristic.
e.g. a group of individuals entered in a prospective study


Cohort (Cancer)

A group of individuals who are alike in many ways but differ by a certain characteristic. A cohort study compares a particular outcome in these groups - for example, breast cancer in female teachers with a family member who has had breast cancer versus those who haven’t.

Cohort (Clinical Trials)

In epidemiology, a group of individuals with some characteristics in common.


Cohort (Fish)

Individuals all resulting from the same birth-pulse, and thus all of the same age.

A group of individuals with some characteristics in common that is the subject of a study of the EPIDEMIOLOGY or natural course of a disease.


Cohort (Marketing)

A group of individuals having a statistical factor (age, race etc.) in common in a demographic study.


Cohort (Political)

A group of soldiers. Also refers to an assistant or colleague.


Cohort (Prostate Cancer)

A group of individuals having a statistical factor (as age or risk) in common
