Elements (Astrology)

A four-fold division of the Zodiac which is comprised of Fire, Earth, Air and Water. Signs of the same Element share similar characteristics. Also known as Triplicity.

  1. The fundamental building blocks of matter within all living things.

Elements (Classic Yoga)

The elements are spacial substance, imponderable and immeasureable - semi-amorphous crystals in the aspect of the so-called elemental manifestations. The essence of the unmanifested spirit permeated the substance of space. The spheres of the elements are of dazzling beauty, and besmirching them is like destroying a wonderful flower. I feel that the teaching of pure thoughts will permeate into people’s consciousness. The sower of thought gathers the harvest. Therefore, with the Mother of the World all-seeing cooperation is unavoidable. The state of substance of the space, pierced by the combinations of new rays, permits the beginning of the New Era. All Good should be gathered. (LMG II, pp 141-142)

Elements (Cooktop)

The way in which electric cooktops deliver heat. The two most common varieties are coil elements and radiant ribbon elements featured in smoothtop cooking units.

Elements (Learning)

Components of a task or the smallest meaningful activity that describes what employees in an industry are expected to be able to do. Elements combine to form a task, tasks combine to form a duty, and duties combine to from a job. Elements depend on other elements and are always components of a procedure. Also, the sub-division of a unit of competence. The element encapsulates:
* Skills - the performance of relevant tasks.
* Management - the skills required to manage a group of tasks to achieve the overall job function.
* Contingency management skills - i.e. responding to breakdowns in routines and procedures.
* Job/role environment - i.e. responding to general aspects of the work role and environment, such as natural constraints and working relationships

Elements (New Age)

  1. Earth, error, FIRE, water. These four ESSENCES are the building blocks of the universe. Everything that exists( or has the potential to exist) contains one or more of these energies.The elements hum within ourselves and are also "at large" in the world.

Elements (Range)

The way in which electric cooktops deliver heat. The two most common varieties are coil elements and radiant ribbon elements featured in smoothtop units. Another type of heating element for smoothtops is halogen bulbs. Located under the cooktop, halogen bulbs produce instant heat.
