Executor (Accounting)

is a legal entityfrequently an individualknown before death to a testatorwho is named in the testator's will to carry out the desires of the deceased after his death as designated in the will. Executors must be approved by the court of law probating the will. An executor pays all indebtedness as claimed by creditors of the estatewith the approval of the court of lawand then carries out or executes the will according to the terms set forth by the testator.


Executor (Accounting Terms)

Person appointed by a will to manage a DECENDENT'S estate.


Executor (Canadian Law)

A person specifically appointed by a testator to administer the will ensuring that final wishes are respected (i.e. that the will is properly "executed"). An executor is a personal representative.

The person named in a will to administer the estate (known in some states as the "personal representative").
