Frequency Response (Audio Technology)

The response of a system to a fixed input voltage, at different input frequencies. Same as frequency domain response.

Frequency Response (Car Audio)

How well a circuit or system transmits the frequencies that are applied to it. (e.g., The frequency response of my new amplifier was virtually flat from 20 Hz up to 20,000 Hz.)

Frequency Response (Car Stereo)

The range of sounds, from bass to treble, a stereo component can reproduce. It's measured in Hertz (Hz), and a wider range is better- the bass will be lower and the treble will be higher. Humans can perceive sounds from 20 to 20,000 Hz. The lowest note on a bass guitar is about 41 Hz. Most male vocalists have a range between 100 and 500 Hz. Cymbals hit at about 15,000 Hz.

Frequency Response (Cinematography)

This represents the sensitivity of a given sound, video, or other recording/playback system.

Frequency Response (Home Theater)

A technical specification describing the range and variation in amplitude of frequencies a speaker or other device is capable of accurately reproducing. The "+/- 3dB" notation represents the industry accepted margin of no more than 3dB variance above or below the theoretical ideal zero dB point. A change of 3 dB represents the smallest change in volume an average listener can perceive in a quiet room. Frequency response is measured in Hertz (Hz) - or cycles per second. High-pass Filter - A type of filter designed to pass the frequencies above (and reject those frequencies below) the filter's cutoff frequency (or crossover point).

A bode point of input to output response of an amplifier of attenuator for sine waves with constant amplitudes a deffeerent frequencies over a frequency range

Frequency Response (Music Technology)

Difference or "spread" between the lowest and highest frequencies that are capable of being produced by a piece of sonic circuitry (eg amplifier, computer soundcard loudspeaker etc).
