Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN)

For Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) we have terms and definitions in 3 topics. The topics are Computer Virus, Internet and Linux, Red Hat.

Fully Qualified Domain Name (Fqdn) (Computer Virus)

A URL consisting of a host and domain name, including top-level domain. For example, the parsing of the FQDN, www.topicalterminology.com, is:
* www is the host
* topicalterminology is the second-level domain, and * .com is the top-level domain.
An FQDN always starts with a host name and continues to the top-level domain name, so www.terms.topicalterminology.com is also an FQDN.

Fully Qualified Domain Name (Fqdn) (Internet)

The FQDN is the full name of a system, rather than just its hostname. For example, ``julian'' is a hostname and ``venera.uwo.ca'' is an FQDN. See also: hostname, Domain Name System.
