Glycosylated Hemoglobin

Glycosylated Hemoglobin (Anti-Aging)

A measure of the long-term control of blood glucose determined by the amount of carbohydrate-modified hemoglobin in the red blood cells. The higher the amount of glycosylated hemoglobin, the worse the control of blood glucose levels.


Glycosylated Hemoglobin (Calorie Restriction)

The result of glycation of a sugar with hemoglobin in the blood. Also called glycohemoglobin, or HbA1c. It is used as a common marker for AGE accumulation. Elevated in diabetics, and others eating a high GI diet.
