Goal (Football)

A surface in space marked by a structure of two upright posts 18 feet 6 inches apart extending above a horizontal crossbar whose top edge is 10 feet off the ground. The goal is the surface above the bar and between the lines of the inner edges of the posts, extending infinitely upward, centered above each end line in American, and each goal line in Canadian football.

Goal (Public Relations)

The primary result a company is attempting to achieve through its public relations efforts


Goal (Rugby)

A score of 3 points awarded for drop-kicking the ball over the opponents goal-post during play, or place-kicking it through on a penalty kick. The ball must pass between the goal posts and above the cross-bar.

1) The water polo goal is made of two goal posts and a crossbar, from which a net is suspended. The goal posts are 3 meters apart and the crossbar is .9 meters above the water surface. 2) A score, which is made by throwing or dribbling the ball so that it goes completely across the goal line, between the posts and under the crossbar.
