H.264 (Computer Technology)

H.264 is an MPEG4 Advanced Video codec, also known as MPEG4 part 10, H.26L, or AVC. This codec is said to have excellent compression with an excellent picture quality and is supposed to be a universal video codec for streaming (videoconferencing, online movies, etc) and non-streaming content (DVD's, etc).


H.264 (Multimedia)

The "next-generation" video codec. Previously known as "H.26L", "JVT", and "AVC"it is now also a MPEG-4 Part 10 standard.

ITU-T H.264 offers bit rates up to 50% less than the MPEG-4 advanced simple profile (ASP) video codec for the same video quality. It is designed to compete with Microsoft's WMV9 video codec in bit rate and quality.
