HDL (Exercise)

High-density lipoproteins ("good" cholesterol) that return unused fat to the liver for disposal; HDL levels are raised by aerobic exercise and are beneficial due to their "removal" effect on harmful LDL (low-density) lipoproteins.

HDL (Fitness)

This stands for "high-density lipoprotein." It's one of the subcategories of cholesterol and is typically thought of as the "good" cholesterol. You may be able to raise your HDL cholesterol levels by ingesting quality unsaturated fats like flaxseed oil. Exercise has also been shown to increase HDL levels.

High Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol. Protects against cardiovascular disease. HDL’s help to shuttle cholesterol out of the blood and back to the liver, where it's degraded into bile that then can be excreted from the body.
