IETF (Computer Hardware)

IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) is the main standards organization for the Internet. The IETF is a large open international community of network designers, operators, vendors and researchers concerned with the evolution of the Internet architecture and the smooth operation of the Internet.


IETF (Domain Names)

Internet Engineering Task Force. Based in Hearndon, Virginia, the IETF is the standards promulgating body of the Internet. It is a major source of proposals for protocol standards which are submitted to the IAB for final approval. The IETF is a large, open community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers whose purpose is to coordinate the operation, management and evolution of the Internet, and to resolve short-range and mid-range protocol and architectural issues. The abbreviation for Internet Engineering Task Force, IETF refers to a subgroup of the Internet Architecture Board that focuses on solving technical problems on the Internet.
