Implantation (Contraception)

When a fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the woman's uterus. Pregnancy begins when this occurs (about 7 or 8 days after the egg is fertilized by the sperm).


Implantation (Dairy Production)

The attachment of an embryo to the uterine wall-a process that starts at day 18 of pregnancy and is complete by day 45.


Implantation (Fertility)

Attachment of the fertilized egg to the uterine lining, usually occurring five to seven days after ovulation


Implantation (Huntingtons Disease)

The process by which an embryo attaches to the wall of the uterus.


Implantation (Reproductive Infections)

The embedding of the embryo into tissue so it can establish contact with the mother's blood supply for nourishment. Implantation usually occurs in the endometrium (the membrane lining the inner surface of the uterus); however, in an ectopic pregnancy it may occur elsewhere in the body.
