In vitro selection

For In vitro selection we have a term and definition in Science.

In Vitro Selection (Science)

Conceptually identical to in vitro evolution. The distinction reflects whether mutations are (evolution) or are not (selection) deliberately introduced. In practice though, many selections pass through so many cycles of amplification that mutations become introduced through inherent error of the polymerization.
