Income (Accounting)

is money received by a person or organization because of effort (work)or from return on investments.


Income (Accounting Terms)

Inflow of REVENUE during a period of time. (See NET INCOME.)


Income (Child Support)

As defined by the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA), income is any periodic form of payment to an individual, regardless of source, including wages, salaries, commissions, bonuses, worker's compensation, disability, pension, or retirement program payments and interest. All income (except imputed income; see above) is subject to income withholding for child support, pursuant to a child support order, but is protected by Consumer Credit Protection Act limits, both State and federal. Income (Dream)

To dream of coming into the possession of your income, denotes that you may deceive some one and cause trouble to your family and friends.
To dream that some of your family inherits an income, predicts success for you.
For a woman to dream of losing her income, signifies disappointments in life.
To dream that your income is insufficient to support you, denotes trouble to relatives or friends.
To dream of a portion of your income remaining, signifies that you will be very successful for a short time, but you may expect more than you receive.

Income (International Economics)

1. The amount of money (nominal or real) received by a person, household, or other economic unit per unit time in return for services provided or goods sold.
2. National income.
3. The return earned on an asset per unit time.


Income (Investment)

Dividends, interest, and/or short-term capital gains paid to a mutual fund's shareholders. Income is earned on a fund's investment portfolio after deducting operating expenses.


Income (Marketing)

As defined by the Census Bureau income is wage or salary income; self-employment income; interest, dividend, or net rental income; Social Security income; public assistance income; all other income, which includes unemployment compensation, veterans' payment, pensions, alimony, etc.


Income (Poetry)

a coming in; entrance; admittance; ingress; infusion

Income (Sociology)

Payment of wages usually earned from work or investments.


Income (Tax)

Money or its equivalent, earned periodically by an individual, a corporation, etc., in return for goods or services provided. Opposite of loss.
