Intrauterine System (Ius) (Contraception) 
A type of IUD. This system consists of a T-shaped frame with a tiny storage system for the hormone levonorgestrel (LNG). Once in place, it releases a small amount of LNG into the lining of the uterus every day to prevent pregnancy.
