Isokinetic Exercise

For Isokinetic Exercise we have a term and definition in Fitness.

Isokinetic Exercise (Fitness)

Isotonic exercise in which there is accomodating resistance. Also refers to constant speed. Nautilus and Cybex are two types of isokinetic machines, where machine varies amount of resistance being lifted to match force curve developed by the muscle. The goal here is to maintain resistance throughout the whole movement while forcing the muscles to also stabilize the weight. You are trying to get the best of both worlds: Isometric (constant stress) and Isotonic (stabilizing effect). Consider this to be a hybrid between a machine and free weight.
