MRI (Asbestos)

Magnetic Resonance Imaging, a diagnostic procedure that uses a magnetic field to provide three-dimensional images of internal body structures.

MRI (Blood and Marrow Transplant)

Magnetic Resonance Imaging; three-dimensional X-ray

MRI (Cancer)

Magnetic resonance imaging (mag-NET-ik REZ-o-nans IM-a-jing). A procedure in which radio waves and a powerful magnet linked to a computer are used to create detailed pictures of areas inside the body. These pictures can show the difference between normal and diseased tissue. MRI makes better images of organs and soft tissue than other scanning techniques, such as CT or X-ray. MRI is especially useful for imaging the brain, spine, the soft tissue of joints, and the inside of bones. Also called nuclear magnetic resonance imaging.

MRI (HIV and AIDs)

See MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING.

MRI (Legal, Mesothelioma)

Stands for magnetic resonance imaging. A method of taking pictures of the inside of the body. Instead of using x-rays, MRI uses a powerful magnet and transmits radio waves through the body; the images appear on a computer screen as well as on film. Like x-rays, the procedure is physically painless, but some People find it psychologically uncomfortable to be in the small core of the MRI machine.

MRI (Lymphoma)

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a painless diagnostic tool which uses a magnetic field and radio waves to see inside the body without using x-rays or surgery; a computer then interprets the radio waves and creates a picture of the internal body tissues.

MRI (Medical)

Magnetic Resonance Imaging; a safe imaging technique utilizing magnetic resonance used to obtain detailed views of brain structure and function.

MRI (Microbiology)

Magnetic resonance imagery.

MRI (Mind)

Magnetic Resonance Imagery-- A scanning technique that creates a visual image using electro-magnetic fields to see inside the body.

MRI (Multiple Sclerosis)

See Magnetic resonance imaging.

MRI (Nutrition)

(Magnetic resonance imaging): A technique used in diagnosis that combines the use of radio waves and a strong magnetic field to produce detailed images of the internal structure of the body.

MRI (Problem Teenagers)

Magnetic Resonance Imaging; a safe imaging technique utilizing magnetic resonance used to obtain detailed views of brain structure and function.

MRI (Prostate Cancer)

A procedure in which a magnet linked to a computer is used to create pictures of areas inside the body. Also called magnetic resonance imaging.
