Moksha (Astrology)

Liberation, or the state of salvation. According to Hindu teaching, this is the ultimate goal of human life. In Vedic astrology there are a number of chart factors that point to the attainment of moksha.


Moksha (Ayurvedic)

Liberation; spiritual freedom; release; the spiritual self dwelling in its own nature. Hindu mythology states that a being, after death is re-born in some other form depending on his Karma. Moksha is the ultimate freedom after which the being is transported to the Heaven.


Moksha (Global History)

The Hindu concept of the spirit's "liberation" from the endless cycle of rebirths. There are various avenues-such as physical discipline, meditation, and acts of devotion to the gods-by which the spirit can distance itself from desire for the things of this world and be merged with the divine force that animates the universe. (p. 179)

Pursuit of liberation from the cycle of reincarnation, loss of the egoistic self, and union with Brahman
