Neolithic translates as, 'new tool', the term refers to new techniques of stone tool manufacture and use – and includes grinding, polishing and weaving. Common sub-divisions include 'Stone Age', 'Iron Age', 'Bronze Aage', 'Pre-Pottery' and 'Pottery'.
