A light-weight, unbleached leather that has been pit tanned with oak bark.
Offal The head, shoulders and bellies of a raw cattle hide. Often finished into leather for shoe uppers and gloves.
Oil tanning The use of fish or marine animal oils in the tanning process of prepared skins. Produces soft, water absorbent leather such as chamois.
