Patch (Concert Lighting)

Patch (Contraception)

A small (1.75 square inch) adhesive patch that is worn on the skin. It delivers a contraceptive through the skin to prevent pregnancy.

Patch (Dream)

To dream that you have patches upon your clothing, denotes that you will show no false pride in the discharge of obligations.
To see others wearing patches, denotes want and misery are near.

A piece of object code that is inserted in an executable program as a temporary fix of a bug.In programming, to repair a deficiency in the functionality of an existing routine or program, generally in response to an unforeseen need or set of operating circumstances. Patching is a common means of adding a feature or a function to a program until the next version of the software is released. Compare hack (definition 2), kludge (definition 2).
