Peripheral Neuropathy (Cancer)

A condition of the nervous system that causes numbness, tingling, burning or weakness. It usually begins in the hands or feet, and can be caused by certain anticancer drugs.

Peripheral Neuropathy (Chiropractic)

A form of nerve degeneration that mainly affects the arms, hands, legs, and feet, peripheral neuropathy has been associated with poor nutrition and diabetes. Because peripheral neuropathy can cause nerve endings to deaden, people with condition often report losing feeling in their fingertips and toes.


Peripheral Neuropathy (Diabetes)

Nerve damage, usually affecting the feet and legs; causing pain, numbness, or a tingling feeling. Also called "somatic neuropathy" or "distal sensory polyneuropathy."See also: Neuropathy

Peripheral Neuropathy (HIV and AIDs)

Damage to nerves outside of the central nervous system; neuropathy commonly affects the feet, although the hands can be involved as well. Symptoms include tingling and pain in the extremities, as well as numbness. Usually, both sides are affected. Neuropathy can be caused by HIV itself, or by drugs such as ddC.


Peripheral Neuropathy (Huntingtons Disease)

Damage to the nerve cells that supply sensation to the arms and legs.


Peripheral Neuropathy (Women's Health)

Classification of disorders that involve damaged or destroyed nerves. These disorders do not include the nerves of the brain or spinal cord.
