Rainforest (Environment)

A large, dense forest in a hot, humid region (tropical or subtropical). Rainforests have an abundance of diverse plant and animal life, much of which is still uncatalogued by the scientific community.


Rainforest (Oceanography)

A forest characterised by lush, species rich vegetation with high temperatures and rainfall throughout the year. Rainforests cover less than 7 percent of the land surface of the Earth, but may contain more than 50% of the world's animal and plant species.
