Regurgitation (Dairy Production)

Reversal of the natural direction in which contents flow through a tube or a cavity in the body. During rumination, rumen contents are regurgitated through the esophagus in the mouth for further mastication.

Backward flow of blood caused by a defective heart valve.

Regurgitation (Horse Health)

Involuntary return of undigested food to the mouth after swallowing; differs from vomiting in that it is a passive process (i.e., unaccompanied by the reflex, propulsive movements characteristic of vomiting).


Regurgitation (Medical)

The backflow of fluid; can refer to food and drink flowing back up from the stomach into the mouth or blood flowing back into the heart through a defective heart valve
