Remission

Remission (Breast Cancer)

The lessening of severity or disappearance of symptoms &/or detectable disease.


Remission (Cancer)

A decrease in or disappearance of signs and symptoms of cancer. In partial remission, some, but not all, signs and symptoms of cancer have disappeared. In complete remission, all signs and symptoms of cancer have disappeared, although cancer still may be in the body. When the signs and symptoms of cancer go away, the disease is said to be in remission. A remission can be temporary or permanent.

Remission (Colon Cancer)

Absence of all evidence of a cancer after treatment.


Remission (Ear Surgery)

The disappearance of symptoms; the disappearance of the tumor.


Remission (HIV and AIDs)

Time during which a disease is inactive.


Remission (Hepatitis B)

A period of time during which all or some of the symptoms of a disease have disappeared or decreased in severity. Remission may occur spontaneously or as a result of medical treatment.


Remission (Legal, Mesothelioma)

Complete or partial disappearance of the signs and symptoms of cancer in response to treatment; the period during which a disease is under control. A remission may not be a cure.


Remission (Lymphoma)

Disappearance of the signs and symptoms of cancer. When this happens, the disease is said to be "in remission." A remission may be temporary or permanent.

Remission (Medical)

The temporary disappearance of a disease or its symptoms, either partially or completely; also refers to the time period in which this occurs

Remission (Multiple Sclerosis)

A lessening in the severity of symptoms or their temporary disappearance during the course of the illness.


Remission (Nutrition)

Lessening or reversal of the signs and symptoms of disease. This term is used mainly when referring to serious and/or chronic illnesses.


Remission (Pituitary)

The disappearance of symptoms; the disappearance of the tumor.


Remission (Prostate Cancer)

A decrease in or disappearance of signs and symptoms of cancer. In partial remission, some, but not all, signs and symptoms of cancer have disappeared. In complete remission, all signs and symptoms of cancer have disappeared, although cancer still may be in the body.
