Right-of-way (Active Living)


A strip of land platted, dedicated, condemned, established by prescription or otherwise legally established for the use of pedestrians, vehicles or utilities.


Right-of-way (Energy)

The strip of land, usually 50 feet wide, that is the route of a pipeline and for which the company pays for the legal right of passage.

Right-of-way (Kiteboard)

A right-of-way boat has precedence over others on conflicting courses and has the right to maintain its course. Usually a boat on starboard tack has right of way over a boat on port tack.


Right-of-way (Natural Gas)

A strip of land, the use of which is acquired for the construction and operation of a pipeline or some other facility; may be owned outright or an easement taken for a specific purpose.


Right-of-way (Oil)

A strip of land, the use of which is acquired for the construction and operation of a pipeline or some other facility, may be owned outright or an easement taken for a specific purpose.

Right-of-way (Real Estate)

A privilege operating as an easement upon land, whereby the owner does, by grant or by agreement, give to another the right to pass over his land.
