An exception to the IRS definition of lobbying contained in section 501(h), self-defense communications are exempt from the IRS definition for lobbying. They must be with a legislative body regarding possible actions of that body which could affect the organizations existence, powers, duties, tax-exempt status or the deductibility of contributions to the organization.
