Stent (Bladder Cancer)

A slender hollow tube inserted into the body to relieve a blockage. For example, bladder cancers can narrow the ureter. This can block the flow of urine. In these cases the flow of urine can be reestablished by placing a stent into the ureter, through the area of blockage.


Stent (Cancer)

A device placed in a body structure (such as a blood vessel or the gastrointestinal tract) to provide support and keep the structure open.

A device used to hold tissues in place, such as to support a skin graft

Stent (Prostate Cancer)

A tube used by a surgeon to drain fluids


Stent (Radiology)

A tiny, expandable coil that is placed inside a blood vessel at the site of a blockage. The stent is expanded to open up the blockage.


Stent (Textiles)

A narrow tube commonly used to keep blood vessels open in the arteries.
