Storyboard (Advertising)

A series of panels roughly depicting scenes, copy, and shots proposed for a television commercial. The storyboard gives the client a good idea of the agency’s concept for a commercial, before extensive production charges are incurred.


Storyboard (Animation)

Board on which story sketches are pinned in strip fashion in an order that tells the complete story.


Storyboard (Drama)

A visual representation of the "story" or organization of episodes in a collective creation.

(noun) An outline of a multimedia project in which each page represents a screen to be designed and developed. (verb) To create a storyboard.


Storyboard (Entertainment Industry)

A frame-by-frame artist’s drawing of key scenes with the dialogue printed underneath serving as a rough plan for the way the commercial or film should appear and what camera angles the director should use.


Storyboard (Learning)

A series of pictures which support the action and content that will be contained in an audiovisual sequence.

Cartoon drawings and description of the video story which show the director what he may want videotaped.
