A small lymphocyte, made in the bone marrow, that circulates through the bloodstream. T-cells can live for years. They have several functions, the main being involvement in the body's immune response.

A lymphocyte that fights off unfamiliar invaders in the body.

T-cell (Multiple Sclerosis)

A lymphocyte (white blood cell) that develops in the bone marrow, matures in the thymus, and works as part of the immune system in the body.


T-cell (Prostate Cancer)

An immune-system cell that orchestrates an immune response to infected or malignant cells, sometimes by direct contact with the abnormal cells; T-cells are lymphocytes that develop in the thymus and circulate in the blood and lymphatic system; see dendritic cell.
